Once you have finished setting up your assessment, you will be taken to the Add Activity page.

1. Check the "Shuffle Exam Order" option if you want the questions to be shuffled every time the assessment is opened.

2. You can also set an "Item Limit" number if you want to specify the exact number of questions to appear in the assessment. 

3. Additionally, you can set a "Time Limit" for the assessment. Please note that the value for this option should be in seconds. For example, if you need to set a time limit of 2 minutes, enter 120 in the provided box.

After configuring these settings, you need to add question items. Click on the "+ ADD QUESTION" button to begin selecting a question type. Note: You can add new questions in between existing ones.

Then, you will be prompted to select a question type. You can choose one type of question for each question item.

Multiple Choice

1. If you select this option, you simply need to input the question text in the space provided below "Question". You can also put your question in image format. Simply click on the image icon on the right side to proceed. Select the image file from your device.

2. Select whether you want to display the options as a simple multiple choice, allowing learners to choose the correct answer using radio buttons, or display the options as a dropdown list, allowing learners to select an option from a dropdown menu.

3. Add choices for your multiple-choice question by typing a value in the blank space below "Options". Press Enter on your keyboard after putting a value in the first option to add a new option. Please note that the correct answer should be the one with the filled-in circle on its left.

Note: Your options can be audio or image. Just click on the corresponding icons for image and audio respectively beside the box for each option to select a file from your device.

4. The "Required" checkbox is checked if the learner is required to answer the question to continue or complete the assessment.

The "Graded" checkbox is ticked by default if you want this question item to contribute to the total grade in the assessment. You can uncheck this box if you want the question to be ungraded.

You can check the "Shuffle Choices" checkbox if you want the choices to be shuffled every time the question appears in the assessment.

Lastly, you can check the "Show Result" checkbox to allow learners to see which items they answered correctly and incorrectly. Once checked, you can also create custom feedback messages for the correct and incorrect answers. The feedback messages will appear once the user has submitted their answers to the assessment. You may also add an image for each feedback by clicking on the image icon beside the text box.

5. Click on "Save" if you want to save your question item, or you can click on "Save and Add Another Item" if you want to save this question and proceed immediately to selecting another question type and creating another question item.

Checkbox

In this type of question item, the learners have to choose all the possible correct answers to the question from a list of choices. This is similar to multiple choice except there are multiple possible answers.

1. Input the question text in the box provided under Question. You can also put your question in image format. Simply click on the image icon on the right side to proceed. Select the image file on your device.

2. Input each option one by one in the blank box below Options. Press Enter on your keyboard after putting a value in the first option to add a new option. Tick the checkboxes across each correct answer. 

3. The Required checkbox is checked if the learner is required to answer the question to continue or complete the assessment.

The Graded checkbox is ticked by default, if you want this question item to contribute to the total grade in the assessment. You can un-tick this box if you want the question to be ungraded. 

Lastly, you can tick the checkbox for Show Result to allow learners to see what items they answered correctly and incorrectly. Once ticked, you can also create custom feedback messages for correct and incorrect answer. The feedback messages will appear once the user has submitted their answers to the assessment. You may also add an image for each feedback by clicking on the image icon beside the text box. 

4. Click on Save if you want to save your question item or you can click on Save and Add Another Item if you want to save this question and proceed immediately to selecting another question type and creating another question item.

Fill in the blank

This type of question item is for identification or fill in the blank questions. 

1. Input the question text in the box provided under Question. You can also put your question in image format. Simply click on the image icon on the right side to proceed. Select the image file on your device.

2. Choose the answer input type. You may either choose Text or Date.

3. Write the correct answer to the question in the space below Answer. Please note that answers in text are case sensitive. The learner must match the answer exactly to be marked as correct.

For dates, please follow the DD/MM/YYYY format.

3. The Required checkbox is checked if the learner is required to answer the question to continue or complete the assessment.

This question item type is used if you want your learners to answer open-ended questions.

Warning: This question type requires manual checking in order to be given points. If you prefer automatic checking for your assessments, we highly discourage using this. 

1. Input your question text in the box provided under Question. You can also put your question in image format. Simply click on the image icon on the right side to proceed. Select the image file on your device.

2. The Required checkbox is checked if the learner is required to answer the question to continue or complete the assessment.

The Graded checkbox is ticked by default, if you want this question item to contribute to the total grade in the assessment. You can un-tick this box if you want the question to be ungraded.

This question item type is used when you want to gather the general consensus of learners on a particular topic. For poll questions, there is no right or wrong option.
